when you're helpless, waiting to collide

[Chuuya has lost all track of time while he's been there. The drugs they've injected him with has him slipping in and out of consciousness, and it's making it difficult to think, made worse by the fact that every inch of his body seems to hurt. He only vaguely remembers the fight. He's pretty sure his coffee had been drugged when he bought it, that or his croissant, and then when he'd felt so dizzy only his ability could keep him standing, he'd been attacked out of nowhere by two ability users. One of them had some sort of lightning based ability, he's not sure about the other.

He's pretty sure he has a concussion.

He's been trying to gauge his injuries, figure out if he'll be able to move, trying to figure out a way to break himself free. He's chained up, but he should be able to break those if the drugs wear off. The door to this room looks solid, but he can break it. If not for the drugs.

At some point, someone comes into the room and injects him with another dose, and he loses all consciousness again. When he wakes up, he starts the thought process over. Where is he, can he fight, how will he get out. He's not the type to ever just wait to be rescued.]

[He sets his wine glass down so he can reach out and grab Dazai by the lapels, yank him a little closer.]

I didn't know you were into that, Dazai.

[Dazai doesn't try to avoid being grabbed, though he does blink, looking at Chuuya impassively. No, he does not feel threatened. Not even a little bit.

He's kind of annoyed, though, but trying not to show it.]

Being into it or not was never under discussion, Chuuya.

Could you stop ruining my clothes?

[Chuuya wants to kiss him. He shoves that down, because they're in public, because it would give away too much right now. But pissing Dazai off is something he's good at.]

Why should I?

[Dazai is too tall, anyway. He should always be yanked down a notch.]

You just told me not to hold back.

[Incorrect, Dazai should be strung up high instead. By himself. But hey, agree to disagree.

He doesn't quite agree with the not-kissing either, but he is doing his best to behave in public, himself, which is at least 90% for Chuuya's benefit. Dazai doesn't stand nearly as much to lose as the mafia exec. (Hell, some of Dazai's prospective lady-friends might even be into it!)]

[Because then Dazai will go all-out, too! ... whatever that means.

[Chuuya doesn't care if he's seen. He should, but he doesn't, even if he knows there's a lot of people in the mafia who'd be angry seeing him kiss an enemy like Dazai. They're unlikely to be at this bar. Dazai is too important.]

[Go all out, it's what he wants. In fact, Chuuya is going to tighten his grip more just as a challenge, pulling down to make Dazai lose his balance on that stool.]

I won't let you leave if you decide you can't handle it, Dazai.

[WOW RUDE he's being so nice to you and this is how you repay him - by basically yanking him off his stool?!

Actually: the threat may be a worse insult to Dazai's pride, such as it is. But either way, there's no backing out now, even if the bartender is already looking concerned, and Dazai isn't sure he can come back here. (Oh well, a good excuse to leave without paying maybe.)

Since he's now down low, and Chuuya is still sitting on his own stool, let Dazai just... try to kick that out from under him, using his hands for some extra push. Get down to your own level, Chuu!]

[The stool falls over sideways with a clatter, knocked out from under Chuuya. Chuuya, though, keeps his balance, landing lightly on his feet before smirking up at Dazai. It does mean Dazai is now looming over him again, but maybe he can knock him flat on his back later to fix that.

It also means the bartender is even less happy with them. They've got several people staring now.]

If we're doing this, let's find somewhere better.

[Before they get kicked out. Besides, they both know where this is going.]

[Well, then... Dazai objects to changing their location, just because it's an inconvenience, but he can see the practical benefits, so he reluctantly agrees.]

Not your place.

[Which he's hereby decided, for no reason in particular, and for many reasons on the side. It's as much as he says before leaving the bar, halfway eager to do this, and halfway annoyed that someone like Chuuya exists at all.

In spite of his steady stride, suggesting he has a specific place to go in mind, he's not really heading anywhere in particular. Maybe he'll just try to ambush Chuuya along the way, in a dodgy alley somewhere. Classy!]

[Chuuya will let Dazai lead. His place would be more convenient, but he doubts he could change Dazai's mind about it, so his only option would be to drag him there by force.]

Makes sense. I'd have to much of an advantage if we went to my place.

[He will, at the very least, let go of Dazai's coat while they walk. Because there's no way they could walk while holding onto each other. Chuuya flexes his hand as he walks next to Dazai instead, ready to yank him back if he tries to leave, and more than ready to reach out again.

Dazai can lead them wherever he wants. Chuuya's not paying much attention to their destination.]

[Wow, stop calling him out? That was only one of his reasons, anyway!!]

You wouldn't stand a chance even with the extra advantage.

[Doubtful, but it's what Dazai rolls with.

Comedy AU: Dazai just makes a run for it all of a sudden and Chuuya has to drag him back by his collar. But no, Dazai is not actually in the mood for that. Instead, he'll find some shady alley, and in the middle of walking through it, turn to Chuuya to try and repay him that lapels-grabbing favor, and kiss him.

If he succeeds, of course. If Chuuya is on edge and not likely to roll with it immediately, that will only be to his credit.]

[Chuuya isn't on edge exactly, but he is prepared for Dazai to make some sort of move. He doesn't really want to resist it, though. He takes half a step back, to force Dazai into leaving himself off balance as he leans down to kiss Chuuya, but then tilts his head back and meets him, hands going up to Dazai's shoulders as he kisses back, hard and a little too desperate.

He wants him too much, that's the problem. He'd happily just let Dazai have his way. But this is another competition between them - Dazai wanted something else - and Chuuya has no intention of disappointing him.

He'll keep kissing for several moments, and then abruptly shove Dazai back, pushing him up against an alley wall.]

I don't need an advantage at all to win against you.

[He'll get up on tiptoe finally, but only so he can bite the side of Dazai's neck, with the intention of leaving a bruise for someone else to find.]

[The story Dazai tells the ADA the next day: "I was bitten by some small orange insect!" It even looked like it was wearing a hat? Bugs these days! Global warming certainly causes nature to do some strange things.

Being pulled off balance is all but ignored - a minor obstacle in the grand scheme of things - and then they're kissing, which even Dazai has to admit is kind of nice. He can't imagine it being very interesting, outside of this kind of context. If you're not halfway plotting something and/or risking your life, how could kissing be any fun?

The bite is hard enough to make him hiss, in pain but also annoyance. He does honestly want someone to at least give him a run for his money, if not outright defeat him. But he still has a healthy ego, and he's not sure Chuuya is who he wants to give this kind of advantage. With Chuuya on tiptoe, he's in the perfect position for Dazai to grab his crotch, though he merely squeezes, nothing too brutal.]

Thinking that means you've already lost.

[Chuuya doesn't care what the ADA thinks. They're not the ones he's leaving that bruise for. Although it's as much for Dazai as well, because he wants Dazai to feel it when he moves his neck, wants him to see it in the mirror, know it's there even if he wraps bandages over it. Its a satisfying thought.]

No. I'm already --

[He freezes as Dazai grabs him by the crotch, expecting him to squeeze and bracing himself. He leans into Dazai more heavily, unbalanced for a second up on tiptoe.

But Dazai doesn't increase the pressure. It's going to get Chuuya hard, but he can ignore that still. He smirks, and shifts his grip to pull down some of those bandages around Dazai's neck, leaving a second bite mark a little lower, on the opposite side. He holds the bite for several seconds, just because he can.]

You'll be bruised all over by the time I'm done.

[How predictable Chuuya is... and how easy. But somehow, Chuuya is still a challenge of sorts, in spite of how easy he is - the one case in all of life where Dazai feels that way.

Actually, the fact that he feels anything at all is the main downside, and the single thing that frustrates him about it. But that refuses to go away, even after all these years, and so here Dazai is, picking at the metaphorical scab once again.

Better prepared now, he tries to ignore the pain of that next bite, but when Chuuya holds it, Dazai starts squeezing Chuuya's dick harder and harder in retaliation. Dazai can take this longer than Chuuya, he's sure. (Chuuya gets off on it more than Dazai, however... 😒 Rude!)]

Maybe I'm bruised all over already, though?

[Or maybe not. But the point is that it's impossible for anyone to tell, so fuck you, Chuuya! Maybe even literally.]

[Chuuya lets out a strained sound as Dazai starts squeezing. He really needs to force him to let go. It hurts - and yes, he likes it, but up on tiptoe, leaning in to bite Dazai, he has no balance and no way to regain it, and Dazai can use that grip to force him to stay in that position. Chuuya still refuses to give in too quickly.

He grips onto Dazai's shoulders tightly, more for balance than to pin him in place now. But after a few more seconds he has to give in.]

Your bruises will get worse, then.

[His voice is sounding a bit strained. He's no longer biting now, but if Dazai doesn't let go, he'll resort to other methods to try to force him to. Of course, he'll go back to leaving bruises either way.]

[Dazai does let go eventually, though he'll squeeze a second longer just for that would-be threat. In the end, though, he has nothing to fear - or that is the image he wants to project - and so he cares not about Chuuya's would-be threat! ... Fact of the matter is: there's only so much he can do to stop Chuuya if Chuuya truly wants to get serious, anyway, and, even apart from preferring to be lazy, Dazai should conserve his efforts. It's far too early in the encounter to play all his cards already.]

Then how about you give it a shot?

[Spoken like the dirtiest of dirty language, dark temptation. Dazai is really not convinced that Chuuya will get serious about this, but part of him genuinely wants to see it... even though another part of him wouldn't mind just besting him as usual, either.]

[Chuuya tries not to look too relieved when Dazai lets go, but he can't help the small breath that escapes him, the way tension visibly drains from his shoulders as he lowers himself back down from tiptoe. He can feel his dick throb now, both from pain and from the fact that it turned him on. He could punch Dazai for doing that.

Instead he's going to shift his stance suddenly, moving his legs apart and lowering himself so his thighs are pressing against the back of Dazai's knees, unbalancing him. At the same time he grabs Dazai's thighs with his hands and yanks, pulling up, hopefully getting his feet off the ground. He wants to leave him sitting on Chuuya's thighs, still pressed against the wall.

Like that, at least Dazai can't reach his dick anymore.]

That's what I'm doing.

[Maybe not in the way Dazai wants, though. He grabs his shirt and pulls again, too impatient to bother with buttons and not caring if he ruins it. He wants to leave scratches and bitemarks everywhere he can. He pulls at the bandages for a second, and then changes his mind, reaches for his knife instead.]

[Oh. Well... That is unfortunate? But it's fine. Dazai will deal with this one way or the other; he always does. They both continue to evolve and adapt to each other, after all.

This is a little new, at least, and that holds Dazai's interest for now, even though he does feel some small amount of concern when Chuuya brings a knife out. He knows why, of course - but can he really count on that being all?]

If you make me bleed, I will stain your custom-made clothing beyond all hope of recovery.

[... He means what Chuuya is wearing right now, for the most part, but also: don't put it past him to, idk, glitter-paint-bomb Chuuya's entire wardrobe down the line, just because he can.

Anyway, was that a promise or a threat? Why not both?]

[Chuuya grins, and presses the knife to Dazai's throat, just because he can. Dazai knows there's no real danger, that Chuuya would never seriously hurt him, but Dazai's words sounded more like a challenge than a threat to him. Now he's even more tempted.

He drags the knife down, hooks it under some bandages, and slices through to expose more skin. He leans in to lick right up that space, still holding that knife there, the metal cold next to Chuuya's warm tongue. If Dazai moves too quickly he might cut him on accident now.]

I'm willing to make a few sacrifices.

[He can buy new clothes. Though he has no doubt that Dazai's revenge would be enough to make Chuuya regret it, sometimes he still just can't help himself. He drags the tip of the blade down a bit, letting it scratch but not cut, just testing his reactions.]

[Haha, sacrifices... If Chuuya thinks he can make Dazai one, too, he has another thing coming. Dazai behaves out of necessity at first, because while he doesn't think that Chuuya plans to seriously hurt him, there's also no guarantee that he won't, by design or by "accident" in a fit of rage. It might be fun to provoke Chuuya into killing him, just to make the guy suffer (... more) for the rest of his life, but Dazai wouldn't feel good about dying at Chuuya's hands, himself, and so he chooses not to.

Still, every passing second is too long for Dazai's limited patience with Chuuya's bullshit, and by the time Chuuya drags that knife, Dazai leans in. Not too much, of course; not enough to kill himself, or even injure him worth mentioning. But enough that the blade pierces skin.]

Are you really?

[Your move, chibi.]

[Chuuya's eyes widen as Dazai pushes against the knife, and reflexively he pulls it back. He stares at the blood now trickling down Dazai's chest, staining his bandages. And then he leans in, licks it all up, before grinning at Dazai.]

That one was your own fault. You can't get back at me for that.

[Chuuya presses the knife to Dazai's skin again, this time making sure to draw blood as he drags another line down his chest, parallel to the first. Again he leans in, drags his tongue over the wound, presses his mouth to it, staining his own lips red.]

But now you can. Though I'll keep going anyway.

[He really likes seeing these marks on Dazai's skin. It's not even deep enough to scar, but it's still satisfying.]

I wasn't planning to.

[Get back at Chuuya for his own actions, that is. He's not even lying: these things are rarely about proper revenge for him (at least: not consciously), if only because that would suggest that they're on the same level, and they're not. Clearly their interactions are only ever one-sided, with Dazai showing up to drop a metaphorical bomb, and Chuuya forced to deal with the damage.

Well... that's how Dazai likes to think of it, anyway. But even he can't claim that that's how it is now. This is... not a turn-on as such - pain has never been his thing, even if this is minor enough to ignore - but he's a little curious all the same. How far would Chuuya go? He raises a hand - slowly and visibly and not getting it anywhere near the knife - to brush a thumb over Chuuya's blood-stained lips, wiping the blood away... or spreading it around. Either way, Dazai's going to secretly wipe his hand on Chuuya's clothing later, because a promise is a promise.

Really, though... it's not a bad look on Chuuya at all. Dazai enjoys it. At times like this, quite randomly, he does feel a certain fondness for Chuuya - whatever that may mean.]

As expected of an attack dog... Try not to get rabies, hmm?

[A much better plan is for Chuuya to catch that thumb between his teeth, pulling it into his mouth so he can run his tongue over it. He doesn't bite, for once, but then he likes when Dazai touches him like that. Maybe he wants him to do it more.]

Are you saying I can catch it from you?

[Does that make Dazai the rabid dog here?

Chuuya turns the blade, pulls it down to loosen a few more of those bandages. Chuuya wonders how many he can get away with removing. He's surprised he's been allowed to do even this much, especially considering the bandages are important to Dazai, and how much he always claims to hate pain. But then Dazai has a complicated relationship with everything, that included. Chuuya is just going to enjoy it for as long as he's allowed.

It means he has access to a bit more skin that he can cut. This time he draws a horizontal line, a longer one, before pressing his knuckle right under it to make a bit more blood well up, trickle down. He's always loved the color of it.]

Maybe I should leave a scar. What do you think?

[As opposed to pitching, haha. But whatever Dazai has, Chuuya shouldn't want to catch, that's for sure.

He's not fond of having his bandages messed with, it's true, but the damage is limited so far, and the balance between curiosity and annoyance is not yet flipping irreversibly to the latter. Besides, it really is sort of fun to see where Chuuya will take this, even if it's the equivalent of waving a feather toy at a lion and hoping it will continue to play, not maim. Sooner or later, the fun will cease, and measures will have to be taken.

But not yet.]

[... Or Dazai could randomly decide to be a dick again. Welp, he lasted for like two whole seconds. Still, he thinks his point is fair! If Chuuya looks a bit further, there are plenty of old scars under those bandages, from all kinds of minor and major injuries, even if most are small and barely visible on pasty skin.

If Chuuya wants to stake any kind of claim on him, he's a few decades too late.]

[Chuuya isn't surprised when Dazai decides to be a dick. He knew it was inevitable, that he'd only be able to do so much before Dazai decided to turn the tables. He doesn't care. At least that's what his expression says, but someone paying attention might notice the way he hesitates for just a moment, tension slowing his movements before he makes his shoulders relax again. It's fine.

Normally he really wouldn't care, but it's difficult when he's been forced to realize how much he actually wants here. It would be easier if he'd been allowed to continue to ignore it.]

[He could just do it. He's tempted. Instead he leans up to kiss Dazai, a rough press of lips, knife still held dangerously between them.]

But it's not about being special. It's just fun.
