Just because you're grumpy all the time doesn't mean everyone else has to be. [Focusing on the 'cheerful and energetic' part. Yep.]
Alright then. [Dazai placed the box of chocolate on his stomach, an arm curved protectively around it.] And here I thought you'd want to talk about whatever you've run into while preparing for your smoothie addiction.
[He knows exactly where this is going, but dammit, he only has two hands, one for his smoothie and one for his coffee. There's more of the latter in the pot - he always brews enough for both of them - but Dazai can get off his lazy ass and get it for himself.
Except the mug he'd already poured himself is already going cold. So okay, he'll pour a new one, and Dazai can have the lukewarm one if he really wants. He doesn't usually care. And with the help of his Ability, he won't spill anything even if he carries two mugs in one hand.
So you're in luck, Dazai. Sort of. Because instead of handing him anything, he sits on the floor by the door, and sets both mugs down next to himself, before starting on his smoothie.]
[Oh, of course Chuuya'd save the fresh cup for himself and give Dazai leftovers.
Still, this saved him a trip downstairs and back. The chocolates weren't left unguarded. They were his, all his, never mind a mental note was necessary for him to slow down his pace of consumption. Diabetes wasn't an immediate problem, but nausea was a possibility.
Grumbling, he closed the tin, tucked it under the pillow, and rolled off the bed to retrieve the coffee.]
[Why the hell would he give Dazai the fresh cup. Dazai wasn't even sharing his chocolate, and kept on stealing all the food Chuuya bought or cooked.
He could make a dash for the chocolate now, but it might be better to feign disinterest. Plus, he doesn't want another wrestling match, and definitely not one in Dazai's bed. So he stays, with one hand protectively over the fresh cup to make sure Dazai gets the right one.]
First, the usual locations. Vantage points, shortcuts, shelters.
[His tone was casual. In truth, he spent the week identifying what information to prioritize. This included separating what aspects of the terrain could be researched, what had to be personally investigated, and what Chuuya, first as a fighter, was more likely to notice.
Observations on the stores and the locals would be next.]
The best vantage points are in the Administrative Quarter. The buildings there are taller, too, and more solid. [A shrug. Dazai would have noticed that much.] But the city is a mess. There's plenty of places to hide, no matter where you are, but you never know what you might run into. I ran this narrow alley earlier in the week, but today there was a giant tree blocking the path forward. Anyone else would have had to detour.
[Unlike Chuuya, who just ran up the wall until he could dodge between some branches.]
We'll have to rely more on general directions than specific routes. And stay away from crowded areas or public shelters during a panic. Who knows what that amount of fear will do.
[A literal case of as above, so below - Chuuya would've made his observation on that messy city layout inclusive of what he saw walking on walls. In other words, the edge of town was the best in emergencies for anyone who wished to avoid being crushed by the debris from layered buildings if the trees that grew through them weren't enough to maintain structural integrity. Should the streets themselves become unreliable, the easiest way to get around was through climbing.
As for vantage points - outside the Administrative Quarter were both the Observatory and the Tree of Memories. They ranked towards the end of his list of places to climb for a variety of reasons.]
And the city's mostly surrounded by a forest.
[He gave Chuuya a considering glance before the corners of his mouth curved upwards.] Now, what we need is a visual preview of that mess from the hill. Did you blind yourself with the sun over the horizon while looking?

Taking back all your threats? Fickle of you, shorty.

[He doesn’t reach for the chocolates again. He knows where that ends up.]
Why did you buy that much chocolate? Trying to give yourself diabetes?
no subject
It's a day for chocolate.
[Nah, no need to say he didn't buy these. Good luck when the sugar rush kicks in, Chuuya.]

In that case, I’m heading out before you get even more annoying.

[Chuuya considers that for a moment, then sighs.]
Fine. Just let me get my coffee and smoothie.

You know where this is going.]

Not enough cream, hat rack.

Get more yourself then, used bandage dispenser.

But it's so far!
[Heaving a sigh, Dazai sipped his coffee as he strode back to the bed and sat on the edge facing Chuuya, legs crossed.]
Still, this is uncontaminated by your ridiculous smoothie. I suppose this will do.

[It's sweet! And it has a banana in it. It's not his favorite, since he hasn't been able to recreate that here, but it's good.]
So what did you want to know?
